Directions
Step 1
For Apple Pulled Pork: With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a large Dutch oven or ovenproof pot over medium-high heat, brown the pork in the butter. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside on a plate.
Step 3
In the same pot, brown the onion in the pork cooking fat. Add the apples and garlic. Cook for 1 minute while stirring. Deglaze with the broth. Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and pork. Bring to a boil. Cover and bake in the oven for 2 hours or until the meat is fork tender and reaches an internal temperature of 71°C (160°F).
Step 4
Remove the meat from the pot and place on a plate. Using a fork, shred the meat, discarding any excess fat. Return the meat to the sauce and mix well. Keep warm.
Step 5
For the apple salad: In a bowl, combine the apples with the green onions, vinegar, and oil. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 6
When ready to serve, top the toasted buns with the pulled pork and apple salad. Delicious served with fries.
