Foodland to the Rescue
It's not just our food that's fresh from Foodland. It's our ideas around making a greener future. Approximately 58% of produce in Canada is lost or wasted in the process from farm to fork, which is the same as releasing 9.8 million tonnes of CO2 or adding another 2.1 million cars on the road.
And that's why we're committed to reducing food waste.
We're proud to introduce the #FoodRescue movement. With this 4th "R" - Rescue, we're helping spread the message of making food go further. So, we're here to help our communities take action against food waste at home.

We're Supporting Waste Reduction Week in Canada
We're looking to help reduce the approximate 1.3 billion tonnes of edible food lost or wasted every year around the globe.
And this is why we've partnered with Waste Reduction Week in Canada. They are an organization that focuses on the principles of circular economy, resource efficiency, and of course, food waste reduction. Since 2001, the Circular Innovation Council and Waste Reduction Week in Canada have been bringing people together from coast to coast to celebrate the year's achievement for waste reduction. But this year, during the third week of October, we're celebrating 20 years of achievements while challenging ourselves to come up with new ways to spread the word on how we are reducing waste!
