- mayonnaise style dressing

- chipotle pepper sauce (approx.)

- roughly chopped Romaine

- 1/4 cup
- red onion, very thinly sliced
- 60 mL
- 1/2
- green pepper, thinly sliced
- 3/4 lb
- Angus roast beef, shaved
- 375 g
- 1/2 cup
- shredded mild Cheddar cheese
- 125 mL
Directions
Step 1
Position one oven rack in top third of oven and one in the centre. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Prepare fries according to package directions. Remove fries and heat broiler to high.
Step 2
Place buns, cut side up, on a baking sheet. Toast until lightly browned, about 1 min.
Step 3
Meanwhile, blend mayonnaise and chipotle pepper sauce; adding more sauce to taste. Spread over toasted buns. Arrange equal amounts of lettuce, red onion, green pepper and roast beef on bun halves. Sprinkle with cheese. Return buns to upper rack and fries to bottom rack to re-warm. Bake until cheese softens, about 2 min. Serve sandwiches with fries.
